Everbuild Stixall is stocked by us as an alternative to the very expensive 3M 5200 sealant. Like the Polyurethane 3M 5200, Stixall will bond very aggressively indeed to hard surfaces treated with Smiths Damp Concrete Primer or anything treated with Smiths Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer. Stixall will form a permanent watertight seal on timber treated with Smiths Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer.
Whilst the performance of Stixall is not bad when used on it’s own, it performs far better when the surfaces are primed first. See the results of our sealant priming adhesion tests here.
We stock Stixall in White, Clear and Black. It can be overpainted if desired or required. Please leave a telephone number when ordering in case we do not have sufficient of your desired colour in stock. The clear is actually more expensive – this is not an error.
Stixall and Crack repairs
In order to offer complete solutions for common repairs, we offer two different kits containing primer, sealant and backer rod:
Our Render Crack Repair Kit, supplied along with Smiths Damp Concrete Primer, to form permanent repairs to cracks in rendered walls or other hard surfaces.
Our Timber and Render crack repair kit, supplied along with Smiths Clear Penetrating Epoxy Sealer, to form permanent repairs to rendered or other hard surfaces, or timber. This is ideal for sealing the gaps between timber house frames and infill panels.
Stixall is not quite as flexible as 3M 5200 in our opinion, so when dealign with render cracks please ensure you open the crack up sufficiently to allow for expansion and contraction of the joint to be taken up by the sealant.
