EBay Feedback Reviews
We do sell most of our products on EBay, and a good percentage of our customers leave reviews.

Great service, parts fit perfectly. I recommend!
First, the company - excellent service and advice. Very quick delivery time even in lockdown!
Second, the products - amazing! The CPES really soaks into the wood (pine in my case). I am restoring a pine garden seat that is 100 years old and has seen better days. Restoring it would be impossible without these products.
They are a life saver (and a seat saver!)
Excellent service, excellent product will purchase again in the future
Found this on a Google search, rang the company for advise and ordered some to repair a plywood ramp on my box trailer. CPES is even better than I hoped it was, the plywood is now rock hard and reusable. It was easy to use but work in a ventilated space as the solvent is quite strong.
Excellent service. Email queries answered promptly. Happy with my purchase of CPES which turns decayed wood into something like a coating of non-rotting ‘plastic’ has to be good.
I bought both CPES and Layup and Laminating Epoxy. Both products work really well and have allowed me to fix up my rotting workskshop.
The service was excellent. I had some problems which were solved quickly with a quick email to MakeWoodGood
Originally ordered in 2017, but took so long to arrive (posted via Belgium due to postage regulations on CPES - so went via 3 different postal systems instead of one and took over a month to arrive) I had to make other repairs.
Finally was able to use the kit CPES and small (12 oz) filler. Also ordered 2 pt filler.
Used it to restore several well rotted sash windows, both sashs and the sills, first removed all the old filler I'd had to use previously, then used CPES to strengthen remaining timber forming remains of tenon joints, put in dowls and replaced all the missing timber using Smiths Fill-it Epoxy filler working into all the joints, old bolt holes (had used metal plates to hold joints together), dowls and voids, on the stiles and rail at bottom of each sash. Also used both to rebuild the bottom corners of the sash frames.
Finally painted the frames and sashs white as they live in south facing positions and are subject to very strong and hot sunshine often reaching well over 40 deg C.
Still have quite a lot CPES and Fill-it Epoxy left and still have 5 more windows in varying states of repair to attend to.
Main advantage of this system is the working life of the mixed products, (an hour plus against 5' for other products).
In order to accurately mix products I use some medical measures for the CPES to mix between 10 - 30 ml of each, and a set of scales which measure up to 200 grams by 0.01 grams, for the Fill-it Epoxy.
Made up a table using a spread sheet to calculate required weights of component B relative to component A ranging from 2.5 grams to 50 grams by 2.5 steps, so easy to mix relevant amounts according to the job in hand.
Use a small double ended metal scraper to both extract fill-it, mix it, and then fill holes. Using an old piece of plastic sheet cut from old icecream lid as a pallet for the mixing. Can get very accurate amounts and little waste which, considering the cost of the kit, is necessary for someone working on a budget but requiring perfect results.
Can also use the Fill-it epoxy for modeling and fixing other items other than wood so useful to have as a general purpose glue.
I found the service excellent.Order arrived swiftly. The product did not disappoint. I would highly recommend you and your product.
A very highly recommended web based company. The repair service kit (with unexpected extras of gloves and sweets) was received promptly and at competitive price. The after sales service and call back advice received from Steve was also very friendly and much appreciated and helpful to complete the project. A first class service!
I've used several wood fillers in the past but this is just the best I have ever used. With very clear instructions, one is taken through the steps required to mix and apply the sealer, and mix, apply, and shape the filler. The end result is a hard finish easily shaped and ready for painting. Drawbacks: None as yet. Disclaimers - it will take time to show how long this lasts but it could be that the current good wood will long before the filler decays. Would I recommend it: There are cheaper options around, but frankly, this is worth paying for. It is just the very best I have ever used. (Oh, and the delivery was swift and efficient as well.)
Ordered over the weekend arrived by Tuesday, with CPES product, gloves and sweets! Worked beyond expectations on the wood I was sealing/strengthening meaning no overly costly replacement - and much more work!
The joint between the harmonic arm and pillar on an Irish harp takes a lot of strain and requires a strong bond. I found the Oak and Teak Epoxy easy to prepare and apply. Once set it has provided a dependable, immensely strong bond. This product has a permanent place in my workshop!
I have been using CPES for over twenty years and have found that it does what it says it does, it stabilizes wood. I have used it on boats, windows and garden benches. Great product.
Outstanding service, very friendly people. I use CPES for several years – the best product I ever tryed to seal the wood.
Only I don’t like the containers – impossible to use them without splashing...
I’m submitting this review almost one year after using the penetrating epoxy and filler on my neglected wooden hot tub which had areas of rot above and below water line. I removed any rotten wood and gave a few layer of the penetrating epoxy and then filled and sanded. The tub is heated constantly and to date is still perfect. No lifting or apparent deterioration of the filler. So thumbs up
I am very familiar with these products, having been a general contractor in the S.F. Bay Area and purchased them direct from Smiths in Albany for use on a high-end restoration project in Alameda. I am very glad to have found a supplier just up the road in Kent, and I'm curious to try the other new products from Smiths with which I am not familiar. Steve and Michelle at MWG are friendly and efficient; 100% recommended.
Product was easy to use and the instructions clear and straightforward to follow. Results appear to be good but it remains to be seen how strong it is in use.
My only criticism is that having paid for the quickest delivery option the product was dispatched by second class post. It would be reasonable to expect first class post to be used.
We missed the cut-off for the chosen delivery method so rebooked for Royal Mail as that was better than missing an entire day. Bill should have been refunded the difference at the time - which we didn't do and have now done. We also hope to offer 1st class delivery options for those products that can be sent RM in the near future (Royal Mail delivery is a recent addition for us). Hope you are happy with the glue and sorry for the delivery issue Bill. Steve
Really impressive product from great people.
I only wish I had known about cpes before my new windows were installed one year ago. Excellent delivery, brilliant product, from now on any cuts to wood and bare wood will have cpes applied. Very highly recommended. Maybe an info blitz to selected builders/joiners around the country would highlight this amazing product.
I have used these products for over 20 years. I know the inventor personally as I had a warehouse next to his in Richmond, CA. I used to go into his shop to purchase and to discuss bonding mechanisms and restoration methods. I know the science behind these products is solid. I know they work. My review is about this company, Make Wood Good. I recently moved to Europe and thought it might be more difficult to get these products. Thank God I found Make Wood Good. I had a problem with the payment method at first, but the owner called me directly and fixed it right away on the phone and sent me the products quickly and professionally. What more do you want? Friendly service the way it should be is exactly what I received. I will purchase exclusively from this company as long as I am in Europe. If you find somebody solid and good… stick with them!!!
